Account banned? How to back up your posts beforehand
A ban rarely comes with a warning. From one day to the next, reels, photos, captions and the connection to your followers are gone. If you backed up beforehand, you can restart instead of starting from zero.
What you lose with a ban
- Your posts: without access you can neither view nor download them.
- Captions and stats: which texts and posts worked well is no longer visible.
- The connection to your fans: followers cannot be exported.
Instagram’s own data export
Via Accounts Center you can request a copy of your data. It only works while you have access, often takes hours and has to be triggered manually every time. As a one-off backup it is better than nothing, as protection against a sudden ban it is not enough.
Back up automatically
A daily backup is safer: every new post is stored with caption and stats on a private server, without you having to think about it. After a ban, everything is ready to continue on a new account.
Secure your fans
Posts can be backed up, followers cannot. The only thing you truly own is your own list: email addresses via your website. If you mention it regularly, you can reach your fans directly after a ban.
